Tamyt's- Photo -Shoot

Tamyt's Photo-shoot

At the beginning of October 2003 I received a telephone call from Stephanie Hancock of Rex Features enquiring if I owned an Egyptian Mau. She told me her company wrote features promoting celebrities, films, books, exhibitions etc and that a film had been released starring Halle Berry with a cat they thought was a silver Egyptian Mau. I am not sure whether the film was called 'Catwoman ' or Halle Berry's role was as Catwoman.

Stephanie asked if I owned a good example of the breed and I referred her to the Egyptian Mau page on my website to see Tamyt as an adult. She said she would do this and then discuss the possibility of composing some feature work with her boss and obtain permission to commission a photoshoot !

On Monday 6th October 2003, Nils Jorgensen arrived complete with cameras, lenses, flash etc to meet Tamyt…

Tamyt took one look at Nils and promptly ran behind the sofa, but soon peeped out over the magazine rack …………

Gradually she became bolder and assessed the situation from behind an armchair ………

After a while she relaxed more and allowed him to photograph her on the sofa….. .

She strolled along the furniture showing off her spots ………

Allowed him close enough to take a study of her head……

          Her face ……………

And even closer to capture her gorgeous gooseberry green eyes !

All together Nils took close on 100 shots and by the end Tamyt was thoroughly enjoying the fuss and attention. He took a final shot of her with me and promised to email some pictures I could use.

If the cat in the film is an Egyptian Mau then some of the pictures may be used in promotional features and material, otherwise they will go into the library of more than 50,000 images that the company releases for use around the world.
